Celebrate Earth Month at MSU Recycling! Join us for an afternoon of eco-friendly fun and experience how we manage MSU's waste as a resource.
Saturday, April 13, from 12 to 4 p.m. at MSU Recycling, 468 Green Way, East Lansing, 48823
Free and open to the public. Music by Impact 89FM!
- Tour the recycling center and vermicompost hoophouse.
- Enjoy freecycling of clothing and books.
- Partake in hands-on activities, including:
- upcycle crafts with Spartan Upcycle
- seed starting with Grow Green Vermicompost
- electronics deconstruction
- Learn to do a home waste audit with the student group, PIRGIM
- Play a recycling game and do trivia with MSU Eco Reps and the Office of Sustainability.
- Discover domicology and the principles of circularity, like material salvage and designing for deconstruction.
- Connect with MSUVote, a non-partisan campus committee focused on registration, education, and participation.
- See how metal can be upcycled into sculptures and find out about this summer's ScrapFest and ReFashion Show.
RSVP is encouraged, but not required.
